Happy November!

Happy November! Wow, I can’t believe I just said November. Today is exactly three weeks until Thanksgiving and I have big plans for this year. But before I get to those plans I have to say “where has the time gone?”. How is it possible that almost a whole year is behind us. Now more than ever I see time change as I see my daughter turn from a baby to an opinionated toddler. But since it is November and I have big plans for this holiday season, I think it’s completely appropriate to hang your holiday wreath, light your cedar candles, prep the holiday menu, decorate the halls, organize ornament exchanges, buy the holiday party dress and build the stamina for those exhausting but fun shopping days ahead of us. And if I am not mistaken, the Christmas commercials began this morning.

Happy November!!!

But before I get all all festive and cheerful on you, I want to tell you about today….

Today couldn’t have started better – total opposite from yesterday and it was certainly welcomed. I woke up after 7.5 hours of sleep, and my little pumpkin slept through the night. She only woke up once and was mumbling a bit, and than she went back to sleep, in her own bed.  I think we both like our own space more than co-sleeping 😉 Like mother, like daughter. Even the sous-chef stayed in her bed.

I did some fun stuff at work, but than again when you work for a winery, every day is fun. I also spent some time on the “ME time” and came home to my opinionated toddler and we went for a nice play in the park. She is the happiest when she is running free, I don’t blame her. We shared some snacks, or at least we attempted to. She is not good at sharing, just like her mama 😉 I think she is the only person with whom I don’t mind sharing food, it’s actually fun as I always try something new and different and I love introducing her to the unknown and seeing her reaction.

The playground was too exhausting, so she fell asleep on our way home. Sleeping babies are absolutely the cutest thing in this world. Just look at those cheeks, don’t you want to squeeze them?

After the little one went to sleep, I sat down to enjoy a cup of coffee and the magazine that just arrived in mail.  All I wanted to do is sit on the couch and get lost in the recipes, and I had no intentions of cooking, so dinner didn’t happen tonight. But I did munch on seedless red grapes – refreshing.

Q: How was your Thursday?
