If you follow me on instagram, you’ve probably seen me sharing about essential oils. I’ve used oils sporadically for about 5 years, and ever since I moved to Colorado I really dived in the science and wellness behind these powerful plants in the bottle.
Incorporating oils into my lifestyle is just one more step I’m taking to really claim control over my health, body, and how I function. The most important thing is realizing that there’s tools and resources out there to help you combat whatever personal struggle you’re going through.
**Please note I am NOT a certified aromatherapist. The information shared below is based off my own experience and use, and I cannot be held accountable for your own experience. Please do your research on how to apply and use each oil, as this article does not go into those safety guidelines.
Because essential oils are basically breaking down parts of the plant into its chemical compounds, you MUST use oils from a high-quality source, especially when you are using them topically (or internally, as you can with Young Living Essential oils). I prefer either certified organic or sustainable harvested with healthy farming practices. etc. Just because the bottle says “pure” or “natural” does not make it so, unfortunately.
Are you looking for a way to improve your overall wellness? If so, you may want to consider using essential oils. Essential oils have been shown to be helpful in promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and improving sleep quality, among many other benefits. I maintain a conservative approach to using them – meaning, I don’t think they are a cure-all, and I take all the benefits mentioned about each oil with a grain of salt. My advice is to start small – collect a few oils and add to them over time. The world of essential oils can be quite overwhelming, so here are a few of my favorites that I use regularly and incorporate into my daily routines. Their benefits have been proven to me time and time again.
